News:Expo Real Review
by Marco Seltenreich
Almost 19,500 trade visitors, 20,456 company representatives, 1,887 exhibitors in seven halls – that was Expo Real 2022 in Munich. For three days, interested parties were able to make interesting contacts at the largest international trade fair for real estate and investments, exchange information about challenges and trends, and learn about important topics in the industry. STRABAG Real Estate (SRE) was also represented on a large exhibition stand together with ZÜBLIN and STRABAG Property and Facility Services (STRABAG PFS).
With the new slogan "Work on Progress", the representatives of Building Construction, Real Estate Development and Facility Services presented themselves at a completely redesigned exhibition stand in Hall C1. In a special area known as the Innovation Hub, visitors to the trade show were able to experience group-wide innovation and sustainability solutions relating to the life cycle of real estate. A video game helped interested parties to determine the carbon footprint of a building in a playful way. Also presented were the modular wood hybrid construction method (MOLENO) for sustainable and faster construction and Ennagy, the Group's internal e-mobility brand, which takes care of everything from conception, development and planning to construction, installation and commissioning of sustainable and decentralized energy solutions.
Sustainability as a future trend
A highlight was the DGNB gold award for the Stuttgart hotel project Turm am Mailänder Platz. Another crowd-puller was the model of the H3Ö – Hannover's most sustainable office quarter. What makes the project special: Recycled concrete and a variety of green energy solutions greatly reduce the carbon footprint in this flagship project. Another milestone in the sustainable project development. This is because the STRABAG Group is committed to becoming climate-neutral along the entire value chain by 2040.
Not surprisingly, this year's trending topics at the trade show were: The impact and changes of the climate crisis on buildings of the future. Other key topics included inflation, interest rate policy, ESG requirements, the creation of affordable housing and the overall economic situation.
Digital, resource-saving, and sustainable solutions offer the real estate industry the opportunity to respond accordingly.
Quote fromRainer Maria Schäfer, STRABAG Real Estate Geschäftsführer
“This confirms that we are ideally equipped for future requirements. The topics of sustainability, ecology and innovation have long been firmly anchored in our corporate policy and we see ourselves as a driver and engine in the industry.”
Information for future professionals
In the future, the industry will also increasingly focus on staff resources. Finding suitable skilled workers is also becoming increasingly difficult for the real estate industry. In order to provide graduates and young professionals with comprehensive information about the company and career opportunities at SRE, our HR experts were on hand at Career Day to answer questions from numerous interested parties.
